Nikoleta Kallipoliti
My name is Nikoleta Kallipoliti. I am 21 years old and a student at University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece. I am in Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies at the economic department.
I chose to study in Sibiu mainly because in my university I learn Romanian, and my professor is from Sibiu. I had heard a lot about the city before going, but I never expected that I would love it this much.
Sibiu is one of the most picturesque cities I have visited; I loved walking around on the paved path walks and seeing the colorful houses you can find on every street. It is quite a small city, but that doesn’t stop it from having so many cultural events; Jazz Festival, Street Food Festival, International Theater Festival, International Film Festival… All of these and more happened during my stay of four months there. And even when there was no festival, you can always find some kind of spectacle or activity on the main square.
As for the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu and in particular the Faculty of Economic Sciences, I have had all the help I needed as far as my learning agreement goes, the schedule for the classes, etc. I loved most of the classes I took and learned a lot of things, that I am not sure I’d be able to learn about in my country. I did not agree with some of the teaching methods; perhaps a different approach on some subjects would have been much more effective and provided the students with motivation.
A little less bureaucracy, or maybe a faster way of dealing with the existing one would be extremely useful though, considering how I am still trying to finish with all my after the mobility papers and the international office is extremely unhelpful.
All in all, I had a great experience in Sibiu, and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of going on Erasmus studies.
Mă numesc Nuțu Camelia și anul acesta am sărbătorit 20 de ani de la absolvirea Facultății de Științe Economice din cadrul Universității „Lucian Blaga„ din Sibiu. Revederea cu foștii colegi și cu profesorii care ne-au călăuzit pașii a fost un prilej de bucurie enormă. Aceasta însă a devenit infinit de mică în comparație cu emoția pe care am trăit-o în momentul în care am participat la ceremonia de absolvire a fiului meu, acum un an, la aceeași facultate.
Nu i-am impus fiului meu să aleagă aceeași meserie, a fost dorința lui. Alegerea carierei reprezintă o etapă importantă în viața fiecărui om, este un proces care necesită gândire și autocunoaștere, dar și puterea exemplului se pare că funcționează. Iată că nu doar medicii, avocații sau judecătorii transmit meseria mai departe generațiilor următoare. Și noi economiștii ne putem mândri cu asta.
Prin ochii fiului meu am gustat din nou frumusețea anilor de facultate, mușcând cu poftă din fructul întâiului zbor spre o maturitate desăvârșită.
Generații diferite, dar cu același țel. Consider că nu întâmplător am pășit același prag. A știut Dumnezeu cum să potrivească piesele puzzle-ului …
