Research is the engine of what we teach
The Centre for Economic Research at ULBS supports both fundamental and applied work through an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on current themes with national and international impact. University-wide research has grown through major national and European grants, including Horizon Europe, and through international researchers joining ULBS.

Sibiu: medieval streets, modern student life
Built in the 12th century by Transylvanian Saxon settlers, Sibiu keeps one of Europe's best-preserved old towns - and one of Romania's liveliest student scenes. National Geographic Traveller put it on its Cool List; the Huffington Post called Romania perhaps Europe's prettiest country, with Sibiu leading the argument.
“I never imagined that my experience in Sibiu would be so rich in emotions. This city, full of history and inspiration, welcomed me warmly. The people I met quickly became friends and made me feel at home. Strolling through the city center, exploring its charming streets and attending engaging classes are moments I will always carry in my heart. Sibiu and its wonderful university community will forever be a part of me.”
