Course description:
This course introduces a set of economic concepts and frameworks that can be applied to
many of the major concerns of business management. Managerial economics is a branch
of economics that applies microeconomic analysis to business decisions.
Course objectives:
1. To provide students with a basic understanding of the economic theory and analytical tools that can be used in decision making problems
2. To develop students' capacity to analyze the economic environment in which business entities operate and understand how managerial decisions can vary under different constraints that each
3. To apply modern principles and methods of microeconomics to real-world business problems in different contexts and eventually better deal with problems of practical relevance to managers
4. To teach students to use economic models, to isolate the relevant elements of a managerial problem, identify their relationships, and formulate them into a managerial model to which decision making tools can be applied
